Worcestershire Men's/Ladies Darts Super League.
Rules & Constitution Season 2011/2012
1. The name of the League will be the WORCESTERSHIRE SUPER LEAGUE (here onwards known as the super league), & match nights will be Sunday NightsRules & Constitution Season 2011/2012
2.The purpose of this Super League shall be to bring together the best dart players in Worcestershire to compete with and against each other and to provide the means where in the Inter County selectors may have a guidance (use of averages) as to whom they will select to represent Worcestershire in their Inter County Matches
3. The League shall operate through its own Super League Committee, which will be made up of Super League secretary and all Captains from each team of the Worcestershire Super League. Should there be any dispute; the decision of the W.D.O Committee will be final.
4. The league will start usually in July/August & run concurrently from start to finish with the county season to finish at approximately the same time April/May.
5. All Super League players to be registered on individual B.D.O. Registration forms issued at the beginning of each season. The secretary will be responsible for distributing these to member teams. All players must read & agree to abide by the rules fully, before signing the team registration form.
5a. NO person shall be allowed to play a Super League game without first filling in a B.D.O. Registration form. New players can sign at any stage of the season but must complete a Super League Registration form along with a £5.00 fee, failure to do so will result in the player being banned for the remainder of the season, and the team will be deducted 1 point.
6. Players registered with other counties may play in the Worcestershire Super League, but will not be allowed to take part in any County play off competition. Players playing in other counties super leagues must notify the secretary.
7. The minimum age for players is 14 years old. Any team with players under the age of 18 must inform their opponents when playing away fixtures to ensure such players are allowed to use the venue. All Players under the age of 16 will be the responsibility of their team captain.
8. Only players from the super league will be eligible to play for the Worcestershire County Darts Organisation.
9. Weekly match fees are £16 per team for men and £2 for ladies. This fee must be sent to the Treasurer with the completed score sheet. If this fee is to be posted it must be a cheque or postal order & made payable to The Worcestershire County Darts. Match fees are payable in advance if so wished but no arrears will be allowed under any circumstances.
10. All match sheets and League Fee’s (£16.00) must reach the super league Treasurer no later than the Friday following the match (5 working days) This can be done by post email or by hand. The penalty for late submission for match sheets will be a 1set deduction for the relevant team. (The winning team is responsible for handing in match sheets and paying fees for both sides).
11. THERE ARE TO BE NO CANCELLED MATCHES. If a match needs to be rearranged for whatever reason then it must be done in time to submit the match sheet before the Friday deadline. If a match was cancelled then the opposition would be awarded the 7 sets for that match. Both teams will still have to pay the £16 match fees.
12. The only exception to the above being an emergency or inclement weather. The secretary must be notified immediately should any fixture be cancelled for the reasons stated.
13. Men’s Teams will consist of eight players. who will play 8 singles games (sets) of 501, best of 5 legs, Straight in, double out. Ladies Teams will be a round robin who will play 5 singles games (sets) of 501, best of 5 legs, Straight in, double out. The away team will throw 1st in sets 1, 3, 5, 7 with the home team throwing 1st in sets 2, 4, 6, 8 the captains will draw registration cards to determine the order of play. The draw must be done in time for play to commence at 8.00 p.m. sharp. Competitions will start at 7.00pm unless otherwise stated.13a, All match Boards must be of a high Standard preferable Winmau Blade 3 or 4, although Unicorn Eclipse will be acceptable. The oche must be placed a distance of 7 feet 9 1/4 inches from the front of the dart board in a plumb line to the floor. The diagonal distance from the bulls-eye to the floor is 9 feet 7. 1/2 Inches. All playing areas must be well lit.
14. Teams that have more than eight players on a match night may play the extra players in a reserve game to enable them to gain an average.
15 If a player misses a Super League game through Holiday or work they may play in the selected 8 man team and also catch up the game they have missed by playing a reserve game on the same night. This rule will be monitored for misuse
16. Averages will be based on a pure average and to qualify for this you must of played at least 66% of your league matches and to qualify for any individual payments/payout.
17. The order of play will be decided at the beginning of each match and will be strictly adhered to. Players not available when called to play will have that particular game awarded to their opponent. Once the names have been drawn they cannot be changed.
18. All Teams must pay their League Fee’s £50.00) at the first Super League Meeting, or within two (2) weeks of the League commencing, this money shall be given to the W.D.O. Treasurer.
19 Any Teams not paying their Fee’s either at the first Super League Meeting or prior to the two (2) week deadline, will be given seven (7) days notice to pay, any Teams failing to submit their Fee’s within this time may be asked to leave the League and will not be considered as part of the W.D.O. Super League for the remainder of that same season. All appeals must be in writing to the Committee within fourteen (14) days of notification of the result of any hearing/decision.
20. The league championship will be determined by the team with the most points, if still level then most sets won, if still level it will be decided by leg difference & if still level a play-off will take place.
21. Points allocation for League games will be as follows: One Point will be awarded for each set won, One Bonus point will be awarded if the match is a tie (4-4) and Two Bonus points will be awarded for a match win. Example Team A beats Team B 5-3, Team A total points 7, Team B total points
3. B.D.O. playing rules also apply throughout.
