Zoe Jones Gold Cup Singles Doubles Finals 2008

GOLD CUP FINALS LAKESIDE JULY 2008

This was Zoe's first of hopefully many times of going to the Home of Darts the Lakeside at Frimley Green.Obviously the standard was going to be very high, as to get to this competition you had to win your own County individual Play Off,so in effect this is a Champion of Champions Competition.

Zoe drew Leanne Jennings of the West Midlands in the first round where she found herself 2-0 down only to fight back as usual to 2-2 this time unfortunately it wasn't to be through missed doubles going down 3-2.

This wasn't the end of Zoe's darts at the Lakeside as she had also qualified for the Pairs with Rachael Dixon.Again it was all County Doubles Champions.In the first round they drew Zoe's idol Julie Gore and her partner Coraline Jones of Pembrokeshire.This time it was Jones and Dixon that went 2-0 up only to threw it away losing 3-2 even though Zoe had scores of 180 and Rachael 100 and 140 wasn't able to see the game out.

Zoe really enjoyed this weekend and can't wait until next Easter when she will return to the home of Darts in her England Shirt for her next game representing her Country.
